Agreement between the Italian State
and the Italian Hindu Union:
a decisive step
in the history of Hinduism in Italy
The law art. 2 n°246 of 31/12/2013 between the Italian State and the Italian Hindu Union became effective on 2nd February 2013; a historical event that marks the stabilization of a real pluralist society. A true divine gift for all Hindus in Italy who will be able to experience and study in depth their religion, celebrating religious festivities and accessing to religious services in full compliance with institutions.
The Svami Gitananda Ashram monastery together with the whole monastic community is sincerely grateful for the work done by the Italian Hindu Union; a work, started in 1996 and completed this year, that finally has born fruits, needed to preserve and make this ancient religion known.
A heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed to the achievement of this result. In particular, we would like to thank the president Jayendranatha, Svamini Ma Uma Sakti Giri and Svamini Hamsananda Giri.
The most sincere and devoted gratitude to Paramahamsa Svami Yogananda Giri, the inspirer of this ideal who prophetically saw all this and created a small spiritual family that has become, in the course of time, a strong and cohesive community capable of supporting Sanatana Dharma spiritual principles.
the Svami Gitananda Ashram monastery and all the monks are deeply grateful for having the possibility to participate to this divine plan through service, divulgation and study of Hinduism.
Hoping in a future in which peace and friendship will be the cornerstones of life for all religions and people, we hope that the universal ideal Vasudeva Kutumbakam "The whole humanity is but one family" will come true.
